Artist Statement
Amythly is an artist based in London, Ontario. Her work explores the intersection of body positivity and cultural heritage. Working with a variety of materials, She creates evocative, textured sculptures that challenge traditional notions of beauty and identity, often drawing on personal experience as a queer Latina-Canadian and a first-generation university graduate.
As a graduate of Western University with a BFA and Honours Specialization in Studio Arts, she tries to bring a thoughtful, academic lens to a deeply personal practice. Her work has been recognized through multiple selections in the prestigious Annual Juried Exhibition at Western University, earning second place in its 23rd edition. Each piece becomes a space for reflection and empowerment, rooted in both familial legacy and individual growth.
As an emerging artist, her goal is simple yet trying to be meaningful: to share her art with the world and invite others to find their own stories within it.
